Facial rejuvenation doesn’t need to involve harsh chemicals or invasive measures. Microneedling with PRP is an all-natural method of skin revitalization that harnesses your body’s natural healing abilities and triggers collagen production to rejuvenate your skin.

Dr. Egrari is a double board-certified plastic surgeon whose years of experience and research have led to his selection of the best of the non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments. During your consultation our nurse providers will analyze your skin quality and condition to advise you if microneedling with PRP is right for you.

Microneedling – What You Need to Know

Microneedling is an innovative procedure that utilizes the body’s natural healing properties to improve the look and feel of your skin. A small, handheld device is used for the treatment. It has a grouping of tiny needles that penetrate the skin and cause imperceptible micro-injuries.

The micro-injuries in the treated area will initiate the body’s natural healing process. Collagen and elastin production will be triggered deep within your skin to heal the area and generate new skin cells. The tiny channels in the skin are also ideal for the absorption of PRP (platelet rich plasma), a natural healing serum.

What is PRP?

Platelet rich plasma, commonly referred to as PRP, is a concentrated serum made from a small amount of your own blood. Once you arrive for your treatment, a small quantity of blood will be drawn. It is placed in a centrifuge for a few minutes to separate out the red blood cells to create the PRP, which is loaded with natural growth factors that aid in repairing injured tissue.

PRP has been used in the medical field for many years to treat injured joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. However, just like PRP promotes healing in your joints and tendons, it does the same for your skin. The concentrated growth factors will accelerate healing and tissue generation when applied to the skin after microneedling, as it enters the tiny channels, feeding your skin cells what they need to rejuvenate.

What can microneedling with PRP help me with?

Time takes its toll on the skin, and your stress level, environment, and lifestyle can also contribute to signs of aging. Microneedling with PRP can improve the look of:

  • Dull skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Uneven pigmentation, including sun spots
  • Scars from acne or injuries
  • Enlarged pores
  • Uneven or rough skin texture

Though the treatment can be performed on almost any location on the body, the majority of patients have the procedure as a facial rejuvenation treatment. The small microneedling device can be used to target specific areas on the face with wrinkles and lines, or larger areas such as the décolletage. Virtually anyone can be a candidate for microneedling with PRP, as it is completely natural.

About the Procedure

Our nurse providers can evaluate your skin quality to determine if microneedling with PRP is the right rejuvenation treatment for you.

A blood sample will be drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate the PRP. Although many patients do not experience much pain, a topical numbing cream can be applied to the treatment area to reduce any minor discomfort. The PRP is applied to the treatment area before the treatment begins. The microneedling device will be passed over your skin while the tiny needles gently enter and stimulate the area.

After the microneedling is complete, the treatment areas will be cleansed and the PRP is applied to the treated areas once more. The PRP penetrates the micro-channels in your skin to deliver growth factors deep into the skin layers. The procedure typically takes about one hour to complete.

Will I have downtime after microneedling?

Your skin may be sensitive after your treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. Most patients will take the rest of the day off to rest and relax. You will likely be able to return to work and other activities within one or two days of the procedure.

Apply moisturizer and sunscreen every day, even if you do not anticipate being in the sun for an extended period. Recovery is fast and easy, and any sensitivity will quickly resolve on its own.

Benefits of Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with PRP is a natural alternative to chemical peels or laser skin resurfacing. Complications are very rare because your body recognizes the cells – they are your own – and welcomes them. Even those with allergies or sensitive skin can benefit from this minimally-invasive treatment.

There are no incisions, no general anesthesia, and minimal downtime associated with microneedling with PRP. The combination of both techniques will enhance the look and feel of your skin without surgery.

What results can I expect after microneedling with PRP?

Any residual redness will disappear within a few days. Your skin will continue to improve as natural collagen is produced from within the structure – and nothing is more attractive than youthful skin that is plump with natural collagen. Over the next couple of weeks, you will see your skin tone become more even, with a smoother, improved texture, and a natural, healthy glow.

Microneedling with PRP can be repeated as needed to maintain smooth and beautiful skin. Our nurse providers can take years off your appearance with this all-natural, replenishing treatment. Utilize your body’s own healing compounds to revitalize your skin with a microneedling treatment paired with PRP.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Updated March 30, 2020

After today’s National recommendation for extension of social distancing, and in line with our states “Stay Home Stay Healthy” mandate we have decided to suspend all non-essential daily services of Egrari Plastic Surgery Center and Egrari Non Invasive Center (ENIC) until May 4, 2020. Governor Jay Inslee has issued Proclamation 43.06.220 prohibiting elective surgery, including all cosmetic surgery, taking effect immediately and remaining in effect until May 18, 2020. Although these have been very difficult turn of the events, as it shuts down our practice, it is being done for the right reasons. Elective operations are placing undue burden on the supply chain of our health care system at a time of grave crisis. This is especially true for Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) – gowns, masks, gloves, and swabs. Also, social distancing appears to be the only way we can fight this pandemic. At a time like this we all have got to place the interest of the public above and beyond our own. We must also do everything in our power to assist in the fight with Covid-19.

We also ask for your patience in the rescheduling process. Without any exception our patients have been kind, gracious and understanding. We sincerely appreciate your indulgence in this very difficult time.

Your health and well-being and that of our staff are so important to us and we want to do our part to make sure that everyone is protected.

Effective immediately the following will occur:

  • All elective surgical cases will be suspended until May 18, 2020.
  • All ENIC procedures and consultations will be suspended till May 4, 2020. This will be re-evaluated constantly.
  • All skin care services will be suspended till April 8, 2020. This will be re-evaluated constantly.
  • The office will be open (Monday to Thursday 9-4:30); however, we have asked all non-essential staff to work remotely. We will continue to see our urgent post-surgical follow ups.
  • We are instituting Virtual Consultations for our large inquiry base.
  • All surgeries that have been canceled have been rescheduled.
  • No patient will ever have any financial recourse for rescheduling their procedures.

We are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and will always place your health and well-being as our top priority.

We have also offered our facility as a possible field medical unit should there be a need. We have an operating room that can be a well-equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) bed. Our recovery facility and exam rooms can house up to 6 patients. We are also looking at all our inventory and determining the items, especially PPE, that can be donated to our local health care system.

We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by CDC. These include:

  • Staff have been fully informed and trained to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • All staff, vendors and ancillary personnel are being asked to refrain from coming to this office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Every patient is also being asked to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms.
  • Any patient that comes to our office will have their temperature checked.
  • We are asking our patients about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is a part of what we constantly do, now we are doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • We have instituted a “no handshakes no hug” policy for now.
  • We have asked all vendors that any unnecessary meetings are canceled until further notice.
  • Any exit and entrance from our office are followed by a protocol of changing shoes, scrubs and sanitization.
  • All deliveries are opened in our distribution center and only opened products are brought into our facility.
  • As we are an accredited medical facility, we are constantly sanitizing all surfaces. We have now vamped that up and are routinely, multiple times a day, wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities. We have assigned a person that does so on a constant basis.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this Country even better than it currently is. We are monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will not sit back until we know that we have done everything possible to avoid unnecessary exposure.
