What Is VTone?

VTone is an innovative, FDA-approved treatment performed to strengthen weakened pelvic floor muscles. The VTone procedure is primarily used to treat urge, stress, and mixed urinary incontinence. VTone can also be effective in improving sexual sensation and satisfaction.

How Does VTone Work?

VTone is part of the Empower platform by InMode and uses electrical muscle stimulation to strengthen and tone the pelvic floor muscles. During VTone treatment, the small VTone device is placed into the vaginal canal, where it stimulates the pelvic floor muscles to experience rapid involuntary contractions. These rapid contractions tone and tighten the muscles of the pelvic floor, including any muscle fibers that have been weakened or stretched during pregnancy or childbirth.

Benefits of VTone

VTone treatment can provide several significant benefits to women who are experiencing any form of urinary incontinence due to weakened pelvic floor muscles. The primary benefits of the procedure include:

  • Strengthens and tones the pelvic floor muscles
  • Restores the strength of weakened muscle fibers
  • Quick, non-invasive treatment
  • Alleviates urge, stress, and mixed urinary incontinence
  • Improves sexual sensation and satisfaction
  • Little to no recovery downtime
  • Improved self-confidence
  • Customizable treatment

What Should I Expect During the Treatment?

The first step of your VTone treatment will be to have a quick consultation with one of our providers. They will have questions about the symptoms you’re experiencing and what you’re hoping to achieve with the procedure. He’ll also ask about things like your health and medical history to ensure that you’re a good candidate for the treatment.

Your VTone treatment will be a quick and simple outpatient procedure performed right at our clinic. Because the treatment is generally painless, no anesthesia will be necessary. To begin, one of our medical providers will carefully insert the small VTone device into your vaginal canal, where it will begin delivering electrical muscle stimulation to your pelvic floor. You will likely feel a warming sensation as the muscles contract, but it shouldn’t be painful. In total, the treatment session should take around 30 minutes, and you can leave immediately after it’s finished.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

Most patients do not require any recovery downtime after undergoing VTone treatment. You may feel some soreness in your pelvic floor muscles for a day or two after the treatment, but it should be mild and disappear quickly on its own.

Am I a Candidate for VTone?

Women who are interested in a non-surgical remedy for urinary incontinence could be good candidates for VTone. Ideal candidates for the treatment should:

  • Be in generally good physical health
  • Have symptoms of urge, stress, or mixed urinary incontinence
  • Have weakened pelvic floor muscles due to pregnancy, childbirth, aging, or hormonal changes
  • Have the desire to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles
  • Have realistic expectations for the treatment

How Long Will It Take To Notice Results After VTone Treatment?

The results of VTone treatment are cumulative, and for optimal results, it’s typically advised that patients undergo between six and eight treatment sessions over approximately three months. You can expect to notice optimal strengthening of your pelvic floor muscles roughly one to two weeks after your final treatment session.
