Many people are dismayed by the toll that time can take on the face. As the years pass, the combined effects of the loss of facial fat volume, thinning of the skin, gravity, sun damage, stress, heredity, and smoking can result in a loss of youthful facial contours and a tired, old appearance.

The skin begins to lose elasticity at the same time the facial tissues lose volume. Over a number of years, this can lead to deep wrinkles, jowls, and loose, unsightly skin and vertical bands on the neck.

Fortunately, with modern medical technology, we no longer have to leave our youthful good looks behind as we age. At Egrari Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Egrari can perform our Seattle facelift to counteract the effects of gravity and time and restores a natural-looking, more vibrant facial appearance.

Dr. Egrari is a board-certified plastic surgeon and a board-certified general surgeon in Bellevue, Washington. In his nearly two decades of practice, he has become established as a leading cosmetic surgeon in the Pacific Northwest. He has a wide following for some of the most beautiful and natural facelift in the region.

What is a Facelift?

A facelift is a surgical procedure to lift and firm sagging facial tissues to create a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing appearance. This procedure can help “turn back the clock” to create the appearance of a more youthful version of yourself. Our facelift in Bellevue can help a person look younger and more attractive by lifting and tightening deep facial tissues, smoothing deep folds, and removing excess sagging skin.

Advanced Technology in Facelift Plastic Surgery

The facelift is one of the oldest cosmetic procedures performed today. Surgical technology has advanced since the procedure was first performed in the early 1900s. Techniques have been constantly modified and improved over the past 100 years, and a modern facelift procedure can achieve superior, longer-lasting results.

Surgeons today can choose from wide range of methods to most effectively achieve facial rejuvenation for people of different age groups, facial structures, and visible signs of aging. Modern non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures and surgical facial lifting procedures are sometimes referred to as a facelift, but in a true facelift surgeon elevates facial tissues and removes excess skin.

Who is a candidate for a facelift?

If you have experienced a loss of skin elasticity and muscle tone on the face and neck.

If you have the developed jowls and deep creases between the base of the nose and the corners of the mouth.

If you have developed facial and neck wrinkles.

If you have lost definition in your chin and neck contours.

If you feel your face looks older.

Types of Facelifts

Dr. Egrari will custom-tailor our facelift in Seattle to suit each patient’s needs. There are two basic types of facelift surgery:

  • Mini-facelift: A mini-facelift procedure may be appropriate for patients with mild jowling and skin sagging. This less invasive technique allows the plastic surgeon to use shorter incisions to tighten deep facial tissues. Incisions are typically located along the hairline, above the ear, or in the natural crease around the ear. This surgery may be performed to refine the jawline, correct and tighten jowls, and rejuvenate the appearance of your face.
  • Standard facelift: Traditional facelift surgery is performed to address moderate-to-severe aging in the mid-face and neck. This procedure requires a more extensive recovery time and produces more dramatic results than a mini-facelift. Incisions are discretely placed behind the hairline and hidden in the natural folds around the ear.

Facelift procedure description:

  • There are a variety of advanced surgical facelift procedures. The treatment will be based upon the patient’s facial structure and degree of skin and muscle laxity.
  • Facelift plastic surgery is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with sedation, or under general anesthesia.
  • Incisions are made within the hairline (or along the hair margin) above the ear, extending around the ear lobes and ending in or below the hairline behind the ears. The subcutaneous layers and neck muscles (SMAS) are tightened, the facial skin re-draped and lifted, and the excess skin removed.
  • Dr. Egrari uses a variety of different adjunctive procedures to build up the cheek area and restore areas of lost volume, resulting in arguably the best facelift Seattle has to offer.
  • Fat injection has become a very important adjunct in performing a facelift as it brings the plump, firm look of youth back to the facial structure.

Recuperation and healing after facelift:

  • The patient returns home with head and neck wrapped in dressings, which are typically removed the next day.
  • Minimal discomfort can be easily controlled with oral pain medication.
  • Sutures are removed within 5-7 days. Bruising and swelling decrease to less-visible levels in 10-12 days.
  • The final result is achieved in four to six weeks or sooner, and continues to improve for several months.

Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Techniques

Although our facelift in Bellevue surgery may be more appropriate for patients with advanced signs of aging, younger patients with minimal aging may benefit from a variety of non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment options. After a one-on-one consultation and comprehensive evaluation of your facial anatomy, Dr. Egrari can individually tailor a treatment plan for you.

Non-surgical treatment options to create a more youthful facial appearance include:

  • Ultherapy: A non-invasive treatment that lifts and rejuvenates the skin without surgery. It is also the only cosmetic procedure that uses ultrasound energy, which allows the provider to see the targeted layers of tissue and ensure that energy is delivered in the most beneficial locations. • Liquid facelift: With the strategic placement of dermal fillers, Dr. Egrari can camouflage early signs of aging. A liquid facelift can be performed to enhance the cheeks and minimize the appearance of pre-jowl grooves and nasolabial folds (from nose to the mouth).
  • Dermal Fillers: With the latest advances in dermal filler products, more people than ever are choosing injectables over surgery for facial rejuvenation and to correct cosmetic facial flaws. Read More

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Updated March 30, 2020

After today’s National recommendation for extension of social distancing, and in line with our states “Stay Home Stay Healthy” mandate we have decided to suspend all non-essential daily services of Egrari Plastic Surgery Center and Egrari Non Invasive Center (ENIC) until May 4, 2020. Governor Jay Inslee has issued Proclamation 43.06.220 prohibiting elective surgery, including all cosmetic surgery, taking effect immediately and remaining in effect until May 18, 2020. Although these have been very difficult turn of the events, as it shuts down our practice, it is being done for the right reasons. Elective operations are placing undue burden on the supply chain of our health care system at a time of grave crisis. This is especially true for Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) – gowns, masks, gloves, and swabs. Also, social distancing appears to be the only way we can fight this pandemic. At a time like this we all have got to place the interest of the public above and beyond our own. We must also do everything in our power to assist in the fight with Covid-19.

We also ask for your patience in the rescheduling process. Without any exception our patients have been kind, gracious and understanding. We sincerely appreciate your indulgence in this very difficult time.

Your health and well-being and that of our staff are so important to us and we want to do our part to make sure that everyone is protected.

Effective immediately the following will occur:

  • All elective surgical cases will be suspended until May 18, 2020.
  • All ENIC procedures and consultations will be suspended till May 4, 2020. This will be re-evaluated constantly.
  • All skin care services will be suspended till April 8, 2020. This will be re-evaluated constantly.
  • The office will be open (Monday to Thursday 9-4:30); however, we have asked all non-essential staff to work remotely. We will continue to see our urgent post-surgical follow ups.
  • We are instituting Virtual Consultations for our large inquiry base.
  • All surgeries that have been canceled have been rescheduled.
  • No patient will ever have any financial recourse for rescheduling their procedures.

We are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and will always place your health and well-being as our top priority.

We have also offered our facility as a possible field medical unit should there be a need. We have an operating room that can be a well-equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) bed. Our recovery facility and exam rooms can house up to 6 patients. We are also looking at all our inventory and determining the items, especially PPE, that can be donated to our local health care system.

We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by CDC. These include:

  • Staff have been fully informed and trained to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • All staff, vendors and ancillary personnel are being asked to refrain from coming to this office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Every patient is also being asked to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms.
  • Any patient that comes to our office will have their temperature checked.
  • We are asking our patients about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is a part of what we constantly do, now we are doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • We have instituted a “no handshakes no hug” policy for now.
  • We have asked all vendors that any unnecessary meetings are canceled until further notice.
  • Any exit and entrance from our office are followed by a protocol of changing shoes, scrubs and sanitization.
  • All deliveries are opened in our distribution center and only opened products are brought into our facility.
  • As we are an accredited medical facility, we are constantly sanitizing all surfaces. We have now vamped that up and are routinely, multiple times a day, wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities. We have assigned a person that does so on a constant basis.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this Country even better than it currently is. We are monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will not sit back until we know that we have done everything possible to avoid unnecessary exposure.
