Benefits Of Breast Lift Procedures

Sometimes women believe that a breast augmentation is necessary when they lose volume in their breasts. However, in some cases, the desired height and projection can be achieved simply with our breast lift in Bellevue, in which the breast tissue is repositioned and reshaped.

If you opt for a breast lift without augmentation, your breasts will look and feel more natural because no implants are involved.

Sensation, internal structures, and function of the breasts are usually preserved during the procedure.

Breast Lift Procedure Description

This is an outpatient procedure done under general anesthesia. The nipple-areolar complex is repositioned higher, the excess skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped to a pleasing contour and a more youthful position on the chest. The insertion of an implant may or may not be advisable. Implants are used to increase upper pole fullness. Sometimes it is wise to first perform our Seattle breast lift and then insert the implants later. Sutures are placed deep within the breast tissue to support the round shape of the breasts as they take on their final position.

Some patients will have drains overnight. Dr. Egrari utilizes advances surgical techniques and precise incisions to make your scars as inconspicuous as possible. You may be left with fine scars that typically fade over time into an almost imperceptible fine line and are completely concealed with even the most revealing clothing. The procedure usually takes approximately two to three hours. This is followed by recovery in our exquisite recovery suite, after which you can return home to rest. The design of the incisions vary with the level of sagging and the architecture of the breast.

Most commonly, Dr. Egrari uses a vertical (lollipop) lift, which places the incision around the nipple and down to the fold of the breast. Occasionally a periareolar (donut) lift is done, which requires minimal incisions around the areola.

Patients with excessive skin and significant droopiness will need a standard (anchor) lift to achieve the complete restoration. Dr. Egrari strongly believes that the shape should not be compromised to have a smaller scar. Scars fade, but shape remains.

Recovery From A Breast Lift

You will go home wearing a surgical bra with light dressings over the incisions. You will likely be able to walk around and perform very light activities immediately upon returning home, but be will be required to limit your activities and take it easy for the first few days. The bra is worn as dressing for two to three weeks, helping the breasts stay in place during the healing process. Sutures are all dissolvable and the latest techniques are used to minimize scars. Initial discomfort can be easily controlled with oral medication.

You are advised to sleep on your back for your comfort and to help you avoid placing stress on the area. Light activities can begin in about seven to ten days. Most patients return to work after 10 days and resume normal activities, including exercise, in in about four weeks.

You will see the changes in your breasts after the pressure garment is removed, with final changes apparent after about two months.

How To Maintain The Results Of Your Breast Lift

You can extend the wonderful results of your breast lift by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and managing your weight to keep your lifted, more youthful breasts looking plump and beautiful.

If you are planning to have any more children, you should do so before undergoing breast lift in Bellevue.

A breast lift, while improving the lift and position of your breasts, cannot stop the aging process. Taking care of yourself with a healthy diet and an exercise program — as well as avoiding excessive sun exposure — can do a lot to keep your skin healthy and firm.
