Vitamin Supplements Optimal Nutrition For Plastic Surgery Patients

Nowadays, many patients take nutritional supplements in increasing amounts. While generally safe, their use around the time of surgery may not be desirable. VitaMedica’s surgery supplements have been specially formulated to eliminate any nutrients that may have an adverse effect on your outcome. This improves surgical safety.

VitaMedica’s surgery supplements also provide nutrients that support internal wound care by enhancing the body’s natural mechanisms for repair and healing. This helps to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.

All of our Bellevue facial cosmetic surgery patients will be provided with a supply of appropriate VitaMedica supplements in their pre-operative visits. Please check with our Patient Care Coordinator to determine which nutritional products would be optimum for your desired outcome. They are also available for purchase if you would like an extra boost in your recovery process for other procedures.

Silicone Scar Treatments

Depending on your procedure you will get an order form with instructions for your silicone scar treatments. We have a few different options:

Preparing For Surgery

Biocorneum

This is a silicone gel treatment that is used as an alternative for those who undergo arm lift procedures. Because this is such a hard area to keep a silicone sheeting over the scar, we apply bioCorneum silicone gel to the scar instead.

Gelzone / Oleeva

Several studies have shown that the use of silicone sheeting can greatly reduce the thickness of scars if used properly and at the correct stage of the healing process. We use Implantech Gelzone wraps for body procedures such as the Lower Body Lift. For other procedures like, Breast Enhancement and Tummy Tucks we like to use Oleeva.

Recovery Garments

All garments needed for your procedure(s) are provided the day of surgery. All additional garments can be purchased here in our office or online.

If you order your garment online, be sure that you are purchasing the correct garment—wearing the wrong garment can effect your healing process and even your results.

Pain Control Post-operative

EXPAREL is a non-narcotic local analgesic. It is administered during your procedure directly into the surgical site. A single application of EXPAREL is long lasting. EXPAREL is also proven to help patients use fewer narcotics as they start their recovery. Products that contain bupivacaine, the active ingredient in EXPAREL, may cause temporary numbness in the area injected.
