BEFORE your treatment
- 2 WEEKS BEFORE Avoid hair coloring
- 7 DAYS BEFORE treatment, do not ingest blood thinning medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve.
- If you have a cardiovascular history, please check with your doctor before stopping the use of blood thinners.
- Also, avoid herbal supplements, such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Omega-3 capsules.
- 1 DAY BEFORE treatment, do not drink alcoholic beverages.
- AVOID bleaching, waxing, tweezing, or using depilatory creams in the treatment area.
- Use sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection with SPF 30 or higher.
Day of Your Treatment
- Please come to the office without clean hair (no gels, creams, or hairsprays).
- To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied.
- We will use a hand held device to perform your hair restoration treatments.
What to Expect
- Pinkness/redness may last for up to 1 week.
- Marks may be present for a few days to a week post-procedure.
After Your Procedure
- Wash your hair with gentle shampoo/conditioner
- Sleep slightly elevated for the first 2-3 days to help prevent additional swelling.
- A cold compress may be used to help with swelling.
- 2 DAYS AFTER Avoid consuming alcohol and/or smoking 2 days after your procedure.
- 4 DAYS AFTER Avoid taking NSAIDS (Aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), Vitamin E, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba, Ginseng, and St. John’s Wart to reduce risk of bruising and swelling.
- 1 WEEK AFTER You may color your hair.
Contact Our Office
- If your side effects worsen or persist for longer than 2 weeks.
- If you develop signs of infection (increasing swelling, pain, heat, or surrounding redness) or if the treated area worsens.
After Your Procedure
- 4-6 weeks after each treatment.
- Quarterly maintenance treatments.
